He set hearts aflutter all over America when he was cast as Ben in the college drama Felicity.
And today actor Scott Speedman showed he has still got what it takes as the hunky star rescued girlfriend Teresa Palmer after she became stranded on some rocks in the rough ocean.
The pair had been strolling along the beach in Hawaii where they are taking a romantic break before Australian actress Teresa got into a spot of bother.
The Grudge 2 star showed off her toned body in a mismatched string bikinibut was ill-prepared for the rocky beach, unlike her boyfriend of one year who was equipped with special shoes.
Palmer, 26, who has previously dated Russell Brand and was also linked to actor Topher Grace, became stranded on a rocky outcrop at one point and had to be rescued by Scott.
British born Speedman, who has also starred on the big screen in films including the Underworld franchise and romantic weepie The Vow alongside Rachel McAdams, offered a reassuring hand to his blonde girlfriend before lifting her off of the rocks.
Speedman, was raised in Toronto, trained in high school to be an Olympic swimmer before an injury prevented that from happening and he fell into acting instead.
The 36-year-old can next be seen in an ambitious new ABC drama called Last Resort.
Last Resort centers on the crew of a U.S. nuclear submarine who, after ignoring an order to fire nuclear missiles, wind up being hunted and escape to a NATO outpost where they declare themselves to be the world's smallest nuclear nation.
Teresa, who seen as something of a rising star in Hollywood has just been been cast in the film Knight Of Cups directed by multiple Academy Award-nominated director Terrence Malick.
Oscar-winners Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Natalie Portman have also signed on to the project, the details of which the notoriously secretive director has kept close to his chest .
Rumour has it that the plot focuses on Bale's character searching for meaning in his life and borrows its title from a tarot card.
